To signal the rise of China's panel production capacity, we must talk about BOE. As I mentioned before in the news, Qunzhi Consulting released the global LCD TV panel shipments in the first quarter of 2018. Among them, BOE BOE’s LCD TV panel shipments surpassed Korea’s two largest panel makers LGD and Samsung for the first time in shipments. Topped the list.
Global LCD TV Panel Shipment in the First Quarter of 2018
In other words, under the guidance of BOE, China is getting closer and closer to the largest production area of the display panel. The panel production capacity is expected to become the world's No. 1 in 2019; currently there are a total of 11 high-level production and planning production lines in the world. Of these, nine are from China, which means that China will dominate the world oversized panels in the future. The Internet of Things, 5G, and artificial intelligence have ushered in a new stage of development for the entire display industry.
Among the four-tiered echelon of global manufacturing, China is in the third echelon, is an ordinary manufacturing industry, the first is the United States, is an original source of innovation, the second echelon is a high-end manufacturing dominated by Japan and Germany, and the Chinese flat-panel display The industry has achieved the process of moving from the third tier to the second tier.
Manufacturers such as BOE, Huaxing Optoelectronics, Visionox, Tianma and other manufacturers have come out with flexible screens, full-screens, and special-shaped screens. Domestic high-end screens are rapidly advancing. In 2018, China will also have a number of OLED panel lines put into operation or expand production, and the global influence will be further enhanced. In the next 3 to 5 years, OLED investment can reach 30 to 50 billion U.S. dollars.
China's display panel industry has achieved remarkable results and gradually took over LCD's right to speak. It is expected that the sales volume of LCD panels will account for 31% in 2018. With the increasing demand for large-screen and high-end display products, the construction of high-generation panels has become a major competitive area for the display industry.
Not only LCD panels, in the AMOLED field, with the positive layout of BOE, China Star Optoelectronics, Tianma, Visionox and other manufacturers, it is expected that production capacity can be fully released by 2020, when China will jointly dominate the OLED industry with South Korea's development. At the same time, the continuous maturity of Chinese companies' manufacturing levels and the synergies of upstream panel resources have driven the self-sufficiency rate of major display terminals to continue to climb, and China will gradually become a global mobile phone or TV manufacturing center and brand powerhouse. This year, the proportion of Chinese small and medium-sized panels in international production capacity will exceed 40%, and in 2020 it will be close to 60%.
The days when China’s panel dominates the world are just around the corner.
